Position Description

We are seeking an experienced The Quality Control Engineer is responsible for ensuring all products, components, and assemblies developed within the Design & Development (D&D) division meet defined quality criteria.

This includes defining measurable quality requirements, developing inspection strategies, conducting dimensional verification, preparing test and inspection documentation, managing quality risks, and ensuring readiness of products for prototype, pilot, and mass production builds.

The role requires strong metrology capability, including hands-on experience with CMM, VMM, and precision measurement instruments, with proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.

The engineer will work with cross-functional teams including Design, Manufacturing, and Vendors to prevent defects, solve quality problems, and ensure continuous improvement

Key Responsibilities

To define quality criteria of products, components, and processes. Collaborate with product designers, D&D teams, vendors, and production teams to determine quality requirements. Perform dimensional inspection using CMM, VMM, height gauges, calipers, micrometers, profile projectors, and other metrology tools. Develop CMM/VMM measurement programs and validate inspection methodologies. Support creation of QC test procedures and ensure effective implementation. Prepare and review testing documents, inspection procedures, and QC reports. Troubleshoot quality issues and modify inspection/test procedures as required. Conduct tolerance analysis and ensure GD&T requirements are met. Analyze product specifications, identify potential issues, and propose corrective actions. Review design plans, process flows, and test procedures to understand scope and inspect ability. Ensure successful quality readiness and deployment of products into market or production. Identify root causes using structured problem-solving tools (5 Why, Fishbone, PFMEA, 8D). Analyze data to identify trends in product quality or defects and implement preventive measures. Ensure manufacturing and inspection processes comply with applicable industry and regulatory requirements. Regular interaction with R&D and vendors to improve component and product quality.
